The company was originally founded by Rene Burggraaf back in 2000 under the name P.B. Welding Service. Coming from an engineering background, Rene has always had a vision to built premium quality and durable driveway gate systems, that are built to last! In 2005 the first company website was built and Rene started promoting the business as www.ontariogates.com
Over the course of 15 years Ontario Gates has built and installed hundreds of beautiful driveway gates and set the industry standard high, by implementing unique designs, premium quality and superior durability.
In 2015 Rene sold the business Ontario Gates to his friend Jon Mulder, who has since taken the business to the next level. Ontario Gates is now one of the leading gate manufacturers in Ontario Canada and continues to deliver premium quality gates for residences all across the province.
In 2015 Rene moved to British Columbia and founded Blackwater Gates. Blackwater Gates was established and has since served dozens of satisfied customers in British Columbia and Alberta. Combining unique designs, high quality materials and one of a kind keyed concrete foundations, Blackwater Gates has become one of the leading gate fabricators for Central Alberta and Central British Columbia!
With well over 20 years of experience, Rene has a wealth of knowledge in the gate industry. His entrepreneurial spirit has enabled him to source high quality components at competitive prices from suppliers all across Canada and the US.
And to this day Rene remains focused on building his company Blackwater Gates on the same core values and principals of trust, integrity and credibility.
